Issue 2/2013 of the ITAS journal "Technology Assessment - Theory and Practice" (TATuP) has been published [02.08.2013]

The thematic focus of the current issue, edited by Armin Grunwald and Jens Schippl, is on "Energy Transition 2.0". This term symbolises the transition from the naive idea that energy transition primarily means the replacement of old by new technologies (1.0) to an understanding of the energy transition as a transformation which deeply affects society. The individual contributions to the key topic reflect on this notion of the energy transition as a socio-technical system (2.0) from different disciplinary perspectives. Some questions of particular relevance to TA will be addressed: How important are the non-technical factors in the energy transition? What inter- and transdisciplinary knowledge is needed for the transformation of the energy system? What chances and limits of participation arise in the planning processes of the energy transition?

Under the heading "TA projects", the results of an expert survey on "Agricultural technology between increase in autonomy and pressure to adapt" are presented, among others. In the "discussion forum", Helge Torgersen from ITA, Vienna, questions TA as a hermeneutical undertaking and Diana Gallego Carreras from ZIRIUS, Stuttgart, considers the potential societal contribution of monitoring in the final disposal of radioactive waste. The issue also features reviews, conference reports, news from ITAS, TAB and the Network TA, as well as a presentation of the Australian TA institution CSIRIO.

With this issue, TATuP moves to a new Internet address. From now on you will find the journal at https://www.tatup.de.
