Project description
The project ProSyBatt complements the already ongoing research at ITAS in the fields of future energy storage and e-mobility.
A major research focus is on the availability of resources for battery cell production (as a possible obstacle to innovation) and on the recycling of electrochemical traction batteries. One important goal is the integration of sustainability aspects already during the early design phase of electric energy storage systems while co-operating closely with the technology developers. In this process a technical systems analysis is combined with an economic and ecological life cycle oriented systems analysis. This approach allows to deepen the understanding of technical requirements, ecological effects, and economic feasibility of future battery technologies.
