How can technologists carry out their research in a way that displays awareness of ethical, legal, and social issues? What principles and tools in this area are the most productive? At this event we bring together those involved in research and those examining the value of responsibility in research and innovation, and seek to identify practical ways of aligning new technologies with social need. Those present will include representatives of Colorobbia (Nanotechnology), RDM Group (automated cars), and Bisigodos (synthetic biology), as well as researchers from the universities of Warwick and Delft, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, the Italian Association for Industrial Research and the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment.
