Studio Quantum: Art-Science Interaction in Quantum Technologies

Wednesday, 16 October 2024, 17:30-19:00
Zentrum für Kunst und Medien (ZKM)
Media Lounge

Did you miss our first event on quantum physics and quantum technologies? Or did you attend and want to learn more about entanglement, quantum communication and artistic perspectives on these topics?

Then come to our second event on Art-Science in Quantum Technologies!

As part of the Goethe Institute's "Studio Quantum" residency, KIT-ITAS and ZKM are organising a series of events on art-science in quantum technologies. The free second event will take place on

Wednesday, September 16th from 17:30 to 19:00

in the ZKM Medialounge (Lorenzstraße 19, Karlsruhe).

This time the programme will focus on the quantum phenomenon of entanglement, its technical applications and philosophical implications. Prof. David Hunger, Professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), will give an insight into his work on light-matter interactions and discuss their implications for reality. The artist in residence Sarah Selby will then talk about her experiences and ideas with quantum technologies at ZKM and ITAS. The programme will conclude with an open discussion on the interface between art and (quantum) science.

Let us discuss how both perspectives - science and art - could be fruitful for the further development of quantum technology and its adaptation.
