PhD program of network NTA extended by two years [13.02.2012]
In December the BMBF has agreed to extend the program "TRANSDISS – disciplinary research within transdisciplinarity. Dissertations in technology assessment" for another two years. This success is due to the fact that the communication between the PhD students on the TA aspects of their work, no matter of their "home discipline", was rated as very valuable, and due to the support by the TA institutes of the NTA that had acted for instance as a host for the project meetings.
The TRANSDISS programme is a discussion forum for the support of junior researchers doing their doctorate and whose work relates to TA. Solicited are postgraduates in the broad field of TA (technology assessment, practical ethics, systems analysis, risk research, technology design for sustainable development, innovation- and technology analysis, future research) who devote themselves to transdisciplinary issues which they approach from a disciplinary perspective.
Through the extension of the run time, the programme is open again for new candidates. Every PhD student who classes his dissertation within the broad field of innovation - and technology analysis, and technology assessment, and who pursues inter- and transdisciplinary research is cordially invited to apply for this grant.. You will find the description of the programme and the application procedures here.
