New project "Parliaments and Civil Society in Technology Assessment" (PACITA) launched [06.04.2011]
PACITA aims at distributing capacity and enhancing the institutional foundations for knowledge-based policy-making on issues involving science, technology and innovation. The focus is on practices in Parliamentary Technology Assessment (PTA) and the opportunities of their implementation in European countries which so far do not have TA capacities available on an institutional level. The project - funded under the European Commission's Mobilisation and Mutual Learning Action Plan- offers a unique opportunity of integrating and enhancing the TA landscape in Europe. The project consortium consists of 15 partners from national and regional parliamentary offices for science and technology as well as science academies; research institutions; universities and civil society organisations.
